Flex Football Programs

Flex Football

6U & 8U

Designed by NFL players to replicate their practice regimen, Flex focuses on technique and an understanding of the game in a limited-contact environment where blocking is allowed.

Flex football is similar to flag football in that tackling is prohibited, allowing younger players to learn the concepts, skills, fundamentals, and positions in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

Registration Checklist

All paperwork noted below must be submitted for athletes to receive equipment/uniforms.

Payments MUST be paid in full in order for the player to participate.

Athletes will NOT be able to start until they are paid in full and all paperwork has been received.

The following paperwork needs to be completed and handed in during parent paperwork nights:

  • If you are new to our program, the league requires an original birth certificate with a raised seal.
  • This will be returned to you in August once certified by CMYFCC and will not need to be provided again.
  • If your child played in Fall 2025, you do NOT need to provide this again. Confirm with your grade-level representative.

Note: A birth certificate can be purchased at the town/city hall of your child’s birth or residence at birth. Cost is usually $10–$20.

You must provide ONE of the following:

  • Paperwork from a physical completed in 2026 (must state the child is cleared for sports)
  • Medical clearance form from your doctor

If using a medical clearance form, you can fax/email it to your doctor’s office and pick it up—no appointment typically required.

If needed, sports physicals are available at:

  • CVS Minute Clinic ($74)
  • Walgreens ($30–$50)
  • RedMed Hudson ($120 + additional testing)

*Costs as of January 2025

Your child’s end-of-year report card is required to:

  • Confirm town residency
  • Qualify for CMYFCC scholarships

Report cards can be downloaded from Aspen. (Not required for those entering kindergarten.)

For all flex players, this form outlines the equipment provided for the season, including helmets, shoulder pads, and jerseys. A parent or guardian signature is required to confirm responsibility for returning all items at the end of the season.

Please print, complete, and bring this form when equipment is distributed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Flex football is similar to flag football in that tackling is prohibited, allowing younger players to learn the concepts, skills, fundamentals, and positions in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.  Flex is a great progression from flag football to tackle since it focuses more on the running and passing game, as well as blocking and pass rush.

Flex players wear light shoulder pads, soft-shelled helmets, flags and a game jersey.

Players must supply their own mouth guard, black shirt/shorts, water bottle and footwear (cleats recommended).

The season runs from late July through October.

Games are ~90 minutes. 4 games are home and will be played at either the Sauta Field or Busch Memorial , subject to field availability.

Away games are based on the CMYAF game schedule and will be played in Central Massachusetts.

Note: Game locations subject to field availability. All locations will be confirmed when the schedule is released in August.
